Rock at Boundary Between Sandstone and Shale Formations

I have never seen a rock like this before.  It is exactly at the boundary between a band of Pinehurst Shale, with its accompanying prairie, and the adjoining Redwood Formation sandstone with its giant oak trees.  The geology here gets more interesting all the time! Be sure to watch these in full screen as it is the only way to get a real sense of this rock.
