Bunchgrasses and Flowers

It is still Spring here!  And with a bit of rain coming, maybe these flowers will last another week or two!  These photos are of what I am calling Calochortus Prairie, for the great abundance of Mariposa lilies here. (These Flickr slideshows are at their best when you roll your cursor over the active slideshow and click on the little full screen icon in the lower right.)

And these next photos are from neighboring Owl Clover Prairie.  Again, my name for it, but no one else seems to have a name for it, and it fits!

And these rocks, from the lower slopes of Owl Clover, are just the sort I would have taken to be fossil rocks when I was a kid.  They are probably not that, but intriguing, still!
