Check Dams at Skyline Gate, December 19, 2011

Today was to have been the East Ridge work day for December, but heavy rains canceled. One of the other regular restoration crew members showed up too, and he mentioned that there were recently installed check dams in the gully just below the Skyline Gate parking lot.  So I strolled down the slope to have a look.  I have annotated the following slides, so if you click first on the full screen icon in the lower right, and then click on “show info” in the upper right, you will see a lot more information about what is going on here.

There is more to say here!  For the moment, though, check out the post for February 24 — the willow stakes are sprouting!
